There are four main types of learners: Visual, Reading/Writing, Kinaesthetic, and Auditory. And of course... you're an Auditory learner! How do I know? Why are you a musician... exactly. Here you will discover which other styles of learning are best for you, which ones you need to improve, and overall discover a specific method perfect for you to become the best you can be when learning your instrument!
I learn better with imagery: pictures, flashcards, sight-reading...
I learn better with written text: books, blogs, chord charts...
I learn better by being active: exercises, activities, performing...
To maximize your learning experience, we will cover material with the use of tools such as sheet music, images/slideshows, and graphs. If you learn better by watching me play and reciprocating... then perfect! If you need a folder with pictures, or a set of flashcards, I can easily make that happen. All you have to do is ask.
Maybe you find it easier to learn with old-fashion textbooks or articles. But to make your learning experience as streamlined as possible, I will compose with you pages or documents with bullet-points and summaries, as well as extracts from books/articles, all linked together to maxismise your style of learning in relation to your instrument.
If you're better at learning with a more hands-on approach, then you'll find it easier practising when trying to make perfect. Exercises, games, puzzles, quizzes, and a variety of activities can be incorporated to assist you on your journey to understanding music better and performing like a pro!
